AI Built for Owner-Run Businesses

Tailored AI
for the way you
run your business.

DataLever builds custom AI tools for owner-operators, search-fund acquirers, and the leaders of small businesses — tailored to your business, not an off-the-shelf product with a monthly subscription. We build it. You own it. No big contract or commitment.

Time

AI that finally works for you.

Everyone's talking about AI. Few owners have time to actually implement it. We're a team of senior data and software professionals who build the things you've been meaning to get to — securely, properly, and tailored to how your business already runs.

For Owner-Operators
You know you need to "do" AI. You're too busy running your business to figure it out.

You're the CEO, sales lead, hiring manager, and customer service all at once. The thought of stopping to learn AI tools, evaluate vendors, and integrate systems feels impossible — even though you know it would change your life if done right.

Hiring a professional to build it for you saves you time, headache, and the risk of doing it wrong. Our team are senior data engineers, AI architects, and software builders who understand the things you shouldn't have to learn yourself — data architecture, web infrastructure, security, compliance, and privacy. We do this for a living, so you don't have to.

For PE Firms & Searchers
While you handle integration, we handle the data and automation.

The first 100 days post-close are dominated by people: aligning the existing team, navigating culture, integrating leadership. Meanwhile, the back-office is still running on tribal knowledge, manual processes, and disconnected systems — every one of which is a tax on EBITDA and a barrier to scaling the playbook you bought the business to execute.

We come in and automate as much of the back-end as you want — capturing the previous owner's knowledge, modernizing the data layer, deploying AI agents that handle repetitive work. The result is operational leverage and the ability to scale in ways that were previously very difficult to achieve.

DataLever was founded by a former searcher who acquired and operated a small business. I've sat in your seat. I know exactly what the first 100 days look like, what the diligence missed, and where the leverage hides.

For Small Business CEOs, COOs & Operators
Get the power of data and AI without having to hire an entire team to do it.

You don't need a 6-figure data hire, an in-house AI engineer, or a year-long enterprise software rollout. You need targeted automation that gives you back hours and gives your team better tools — built by professionals who understand the systems, security, and integrations behind the scenes.

Engage flexibly: scope the work to your timeline, stay within the budget you set, and pause or expand as your priorities shift. Achieve real results without hiring an internal team to do it.

"I bought a small business thinking I'd scored a great deal. What I actually bought was a hard education in everything an owner has to carry. Every vendor I tried to hire to help made it worse — generic SaaS that didn't fit or consultants who didn't understand my business. I built DataLever because owners deserve a better partner."

I've stood where you stand.

I started in analytics — building predictive models at American Airlines before "AI" was the marketing term it is today. Then I led large-scale operations at Amazon, where I learned what it really takes to run a business at scale.

Later I bought a small business, where there was no huge enterprise behind me. Everything fell onto my plate, and everything was manual.

My team at the HVAC business I acquired — Colorado.

I worked tirelessly to build automations and systems so I could free up some of my time to focus on all of the other fires burning in the business.

Everything was on paper, so I was starting from scratch. I tried hiring vendors. Disappointing does not begin to describe how poorly most vendors treat small business owners. Promises that lacked delivery, or required huge process and cultural changes.

Fortunately for me I had spent my previous career building and refining data for decisioning, so I rolled up my sleeves and got to work. As I did this I realized that I was probably not the only owner in the world who had this problem — but I was one of few who could solve it.

DataLever exists because owners deserve better than what's currently for sale. I was underwhelmed by everything I tried as an owner. So I built what I wish I'd had — for other owners and operators. For everyone who actually carries the weight.
What We Build

Start with your biggest headache.

First, I want to hear about what your biggest headache or time suck is. That's where we want to start. It's probably solved by one of the three service areas below — but if it's not, let's have a chat. There's a good chance we can build a new solution for you.

01
Data & Analytics

Turn data — wherever it lives — into the insights and forecasts that drive better decisions.

01
Data Ingestion

Take what's on paper, in Excel, or in Access and turn it into a cloud or on-prem database — a single source of truth where real decisions can be made.

02
Data Integrations

Pull data out of the systems where it's siloed and stitch it together, so you can derive insights and take actions that simply aren't possible when your data lives in separate places.

03
ETL (Extract, Transform, Load)

Take data in any of its current states and blend it with other sources, so you can pull insights to make decisions across the whole business — not just one slice of it.

04
Reporting

Dashboards, KPI trackers, and visualizations all set up to run automatically. Get the information you need at a glance, without anyone manually pulling reports together.

05
Forecasting

Use data to predict what's going to happen. Demand, pricing, supply, churn, capacity — anywhere a better guess about the future translates into better decisions today.

02
Automation & AI Agents

Eliminate the busywork — from mapping how things should run to handing the work to AI that runs it for you.

01
Process Mapping

Define your existing processes and what the workflow should be. Take what is currently tribal knowledge and codify it, so it becomes quickly and easily repeatable — by anyone, not just you.

02
RPA (Robotic Process Automation)

Take existing rules-based workflows and use code to make them happen without the need for someone at the wheel. The elimination of repetitive tasks.

03
Chatbots

Automated bots that use the context of your data to answer questions for your team or your customers — quickly, in natural language, with helpful answers.

04
AI Agents

Agents that take the context of your data and processes to make decisions and take actions to achieve a specific goal — without the need for human intervention.

03
Custom AI-Powered Software

Software built for your business — not your business reshaped to fit somebody else's software.

01
Add-Ins & Integrations to Existing Software

Overlays and extensions built on top of the tools you already use. Not applicable to every case — depends on your existing tech stack — but when it fits, it's the lowest-friction path to real upside.

02
Bespoke, Tailored Software

Most software is purpose-built for an industry, not for your business. I'll build software specifically for yours — following your processes, minimizing the pain of change management. You own the software. You only pay for the maintenance tasks you actually need — no evergreen MRR going to someone else.

03
Website Add-Ins

Custom booking pages, progress trackers for clients, updated workflows, chatbot integrations — anything that turns your website from a brochure into a tool that does work for you.

We're doing service for owner-run
businesses differently.

As an owner who bought a small business, I was underwhelmed by every vendor I tried to hire. Generic SaaS that didn't fit. Consultants who didn't understand operations. AI agencies selling templates. DataLever is what I wish I'd had — built on the conviction that owners deserve a real partner, not another vendor on a subscription.

I.

We build, you own

Every tool we deliver is yours. The code, the data, the model. No monthly subscription. No vendor lock-in. No "you stop paying, your business stops working."

II.

We fit your process, not the other way around

SaaS makes you change your workflow to fit their software. We do the opposite — we observe how you actually work, then build tools that snap into that. Your business stays your business.

III.

White-glove engagement, at your pace

You'll meet with us at the intervals that make sense for you and your business — weekly, biweekly, monthly, whatever fits. You'll test, push back, and steer the product. By launch, it's already shaped to you.

IV.

Real operators, real data engineers

I was doing automation using data before AI was a buzzword — at some of the world's most recognizable companies, including American Airlines, Amazon, and the world's largest utilities. And I've run a business myself. I bring with me a team of individual contributors who have even more impressive builds under their belt. We're not prompt engineers who just discovered ChatGPT. We've shipped production systems, and we've owned the business.

Other Vendors
  • Monthly SaaS subscriptions forever
  • Bend your business to fit their software
  • Templates dressed up as "custom"
  • Junior account manager handles you
  • Big upfront commitments, long lock-in contracts
DataLever
  • You own everything we build — no subscriptions
  • Tools shaped to your actual process
  • Truly custom, built from scratch for you
  • Senior engineers, working alongside you
  • No big contract or commitment
